Strawberry Dessert Buffet

Hello dear readers! How are you?

Did you celebrate St Valentine’s Day? In England, usually gentlemen give their partners flowers and chocolates, and sometimes couples will go out to dinner or a special date. In Japan, women give men chocolate, or sometimes people just give chocolate to their friends and co-workers. Making handmade chocolates is quite popular.

バレンタインデイ、チョコを作りましたか？私はかんたんなチョココーンフレークケーキを作ってみました。 

I made these simple chocolate cornflake cakes and decorated them with manly bears and blue hearts. Grr! You need 100g chocolate and about 80g cornflakes. Melt the chocolate, stir in the cornflakes until they are completely chocolate covered and then spoon them into cake cases. When they have cooled down a bit you can sprinke on some decorations (or leave them elegantly bare, as you wish). After that leave them in the fridge for a while to set completely. Easy! 

溶かしたチョコレートとコーンフレークを混ぜて、カップケーキケースにおきました。そしてテディベアと青いシュガーハートを飾りました。男らしいでしょう！

  
I also went to a tea party with lolita friends. We went to the Stawberry Dessert Buffet at the Hilton. There were all sorts of strawberry things- strawberry milk with tapioca beads, strawberry madelines, strawberry macarons, matcha strawberry cake etc etc…

休日ロリちゃん達と一緒にお茶会しました。ヒルトンのストロベリーデザートビュッフェに行きました。色々な苺のデザートがありました！

 

I liked the tapioca best, I think I had three or four of them. I wanted to get my money’s worth so I paced myself, alternating between sweets and savories in order to fit in as much as possible! I think I did pretty well.

マドレーヌとタピオカが一番美味しかったと思います！タピオカは3、4杯くらい飲みました。

Some people wore strawberry themed outfits which was very cute! I was going to but then my friend gave me this amazing Juliette et Justine dress which I just had to wear right away! 

昔いのジュリエットのワンピースを着ました。この生地、襟、長いスカート全部大好きです！

 

The material is gorgeous, plus I love the length and neckline. Thank you ♥︎ And on this particular day I’m glad it wasn’t too tight on the tummy!

後はウエストがきつくないのでいっぱい食べられました！イエイ！

Oiso

 Hello dear readers! How are you?

ごきげんよう〜サフィラです。

Recently I went to stay at my friend’s family house in Oiso, Kanagawa prefecture. We also went to Niigata together to see the Echigo-Tsumari Art Trienniale which I’ll write about next time! 

最近大磯で友達のご家族のお家で泊まりました。

We went to visit Bun-chan and his mother! Isn’t he a handsome fellow?  

イケメンのブンちゃんとブンちゃんのお母さんに会いました。

  

We also visited this adorable cake shop that was decorated with antiques!

可愛いケーキ屋さんにも行きました。私はこういうレトロなお店が大好きです！

We had dinner at the Geihinkan, a Western-style residence built during the Meiji era. It is now an Italian restaurant and also popular for weddings. We had a prowl around inside while we were waiting for our pizzas. By the way, I took almost the same picture wearing the same dress at Luseinekan. Maybe I’ll try to do this everytime I see a dressing table!

大磯の迎賓館で美味しいお食事しました。明治時代の素敵な洋風の建物です。今イタリアンレストランと結婚式場です。中は綺麗な家具がいっぱいあります。

Nebuta Matsuri

 Hello dear readers! How are you?

ごきげんよう〜サフィラです！

The short yukata season is over, but I managed to get three wears in this year. I wish it could be more! The final time was at Tachikawa Nebuta Matsuri.

浴衣を着れる時期が終わりました！今年3回着ました。最後の浴衣の日は立川ねぶた祭りでした。

  

At this festival there are illuminated floats and music and dancing. It was a small local festival which was quite nice because it wasn’t too crowded.  

ねぶたを見たのは初めてでした。とても綺麗でした。
  

I hope next year I can get in lots more matsuri-going and yukata-wearing!

来年も浴衣を着て祭りへいっぱい行きたいです！
